you coming over brandi there's so much to do oh ziggy yeah come on up here and meet brandy she's here to help set up for the arts benefit hello nice to meet you thanks for coming to help good morning ziggy it's my pleasure to come and help it's great to imagine the roller rink becoming something so fun like an art center oh what look at this doesn't it make a great stage what makes the roof such a great stage well it's high up and when you're higher up it's easier for audiences to notice you it makes you the center of their attention and i love being the center of attention in the art ziggy that focus of attention is called emphasis emphasis well sure emphasis is the tension or importance given to a certain thing you are absolutely correct like the emphasis that microphone gives to nick's voice his words sound way more important than mine don't they correct again this benefit is putting an emphasis on the need for community center by drawing people's attention to it from all over the city will the emphasis work well it certainly gets people to focus where you want them to well but it doesn't always mean that they'll do what you want after you've gotten the attention you see thankfully i always dress with emphasis in mine so i can hold people's attention for as long as necessary like costumes in theater my clothes add to my star power well the lights definitely help but what's theater is it another art form it's my favorite art form i love being on stage i love the costumes and the makeup and getting to perform with my friends and the best part is after it's all over coming back on stage and everybody claps for you well then you're the perfect person to help us set up for the arts benefit well end up planning let's act let's get started i wonder how cynthia and pat are doing with their part in planning for the benefit i think it's helpful for us to understand the question so what does a benefit need plenty of music emphasis on music [Music] sure well where i'm from in new orleans we also serve amazing food at our benefits emphasis on food [Music] awesome music [Music] amazing food [Music] well since we're in louisiana let's do it like they do in nola which means plenty of amazing food and awesome music we need to start cooking and we need artists to perform let's check the uc and see if any people from the community have sent in art i love this idea i love that this place is getting so many new artists i am joey welsh i am 10 years old and i'm in fifth grade i learn dance in school and out of school i love that dance kids show like where you are and how you feel so it's like if you're sad you can move in a lyrical way if you're happy you can move in a major right way sometimes it helps me exercise and help myself and it's like whenever i'm outside and i'm just calm and relaxed it just makes me like want to dance so badly so i just get up from under a tree and then i just dance [Music] your chance to move your body [Music] dance [Applause] everybody [Music] okay what questions are left well we have the who and the where and the what but i feel like there's a lot more to that what like what like what will we use as a ticket booth and what will they eat on what would they sit on oh we need tables and chairs well um let's go look at the jump card we've got a couple of great old barber's chairs and uh that stack of doors we could make in the tables and we need to find a curtain for the stage and the cash box for the door let's go just set it down here no no no to go over here instead hi pat hi cynthia hi ziggy uh brandi you said earlier that you like being on stage are you a musician or a dancer ziggy i'm an actor an actor is an artist who performs in movies and in television and in plays please oh plays at england's best expo well if you don't count me well english theater gave the world shakespeare and you know i can do a little shakespeare ah yes shakespeare if music be the food of love play on a spirit of love how quick and fresh art val even a minute full of shapes is fancy oh oh oh curtain call curtain call [Applause] so that was a shakespeare play how did you both know it already well everyone knows shakespeare well i mean not personally he lived a long time ago but his plays they're famous because they're that good well yeah because great art lasts zig you see sometimes a play or a music or painting are so good that whenever someone hears it or sees it they feel something powerful you see great art connects people to feelings we all feel everyone absolutely art brings people together so that they understand each other better that's why shakespeare plays are still being performed today even though they were written over 400 years ago and that's to bring people together that share common experiences with each other oh that's what everyone's emotical does on my planet that's this antenna-like thing on my head only well mine doesn't work like the others theirs changes colors when they feel each other's feelings but mine never did and i never made anybody else's emotical work either so even though i knew they understood what i was saying i didn't know if they understood how i was feeling or if they felt that way too wow ziggy that must have been really really hard for you i think that would have made me lonely and make me really want to connect with others so that we could share those feelings yeah you know what we need to get you making art zig you see that's the best way i've found to help people get out what's going on with me well i'm just happy that you heard rock and roll music and hopped on that rocket ship to earth in search of more rock and roll and art ziggy you heard rock music on your planet how far do these junkyard radio waves go nick after you humans sent the voyager one into space and it crashed on my planet with its golden record in it well we played the record when i heard rock and roll it felt so happy and and it made me feel so happy and and my emotico worked for the very first time wow fantastic i was so glad to know my emotico could work and how it felt to share a feeling with someone else even if it was someone i hadn't met my parents had never seen me so happy they let me build my rocket ship and even pack snacks for my trip here snacks oh yeah i guess that is a long journey i wonder how long because great minds think i think that ziggy traveled 90 million light years through wormholes and time loops no no that's impossible i mean his planet's not in our solar system it's maybe in the milky way surely in the same universe worthy's from the ziggy verse well i'm just glad you made it here zig me too i'm having so much fun and it turns out you have so many art forms besides music and each one shares the artist's feelings in different ways but it's still all the same feelings that i have only how they feel them so i understand them and share the feelings too well have you made any art yet so that we can connect with the feelings that you have i would love to hear about some of those ziggy feelings you described they sound amazing there you go zig let's get you making art well i did dance last night for the first time with the tiger while he practiced here and how was it oh it was really really fantastic and fun but it still felt like sharing the tiger's feelings well so then we haven't found an art form that helps you express yourself yet zig we just have to keep exploring yay more art hi mom hi dad i'm having such a good time on my arts adventure here on earth there are so many ways of making art and they're all so different i mean really different but because everybody's different and art is the way humans share their feelings so all the art forms make me feel and make my emotica light up all different colors just like everybody's always did back home i miss you all a lot but i really like it here i feel like i could share my feelings with these humans and show them
