- We talk to manufacturers across the state, including in the capital region, and they're all challenged to find workers right now.
And some of the most common things that we see them looking for certainly are machine operators, but also people who can program equipment and who can troubleshoot it.
Electromechanical repair technicians is probably the highest in demand and also one of the greatest career paths I could recommend for somebody right now because there's no shortage of those jobs.
As the industry continues to automate, some manual tasks are taken away, but new tasks always come in, automation always creates new jobs.
I mean, it does take away some of the physical repetitive tasks, but now it would bring in people who again, who need to program, troubleshoot, and repair that equipment.
