Democratic and Republican state lawmakers join chorus of complaints
A backlash is growing against proposed hikes in New Jersey Transit fares and turnpike and parkway tolls -- increases that critics say can fall disproportionately upon those least able to pay. John Reichman of Empower NJ, a coalition of environmental groups, said he thinks Gov. Phil Murphy should cancel a controversial $10.7 billion turnpike widening project and reroute that money.
