We did a band for the Pittsburgh Penguins for a couple years.
- Oh yeah.
- All the blue line band.
WQED.
We produced a series of shows called Live from Studio A.
- It became a kind of a variety show in a way.
As far as music, we'd have blues artists jazz artist, rock bands, that kind of thing.
Just mainly you know, playing around the tri-state area.
We recorded a couple of CDs.
Couple of original tuners, couple of you know, mainly cover tunes that we do.
- There's a perception in rock and pop like there's cover bands and there's original bands.
Like in jazz, nobody thinks about that.
You just play songs.
Maybe one's yours.
Maybe the rest of them are just good old standards.
We kind of approach it like that, I think.
- Yeah.
- Just tunes we love to do.
Some of them we would do faithfully to the original.
Some of them we would completely reinterpret - interpretation - Music is a funny thing because if you do it for a living and you do it all the time just like anything else, it becomes work.
And at some point you lose touch with why you're doing it in the first place and just playing this session for me kind of put me a little bit in touch with that.
I was smiling and beaming in a way that I don't think I'd have been at the end of 2019.
You know what I mean?
So I guess you got to lose it, to know what you had.
I don't want to go back to doing so much of it that I ever lose the joy of it again.
