Kiyo Takabayashi was born in Brigham City, Utah. Takabayashi served with the 442nd Regiment of the US Army, L Company in active combat in France after the invasion of Normandy, and followed the Champagne Campaign to Italy, where he stayed until the war ended. Hear the poignant reason he decided to sign up for a perilous life in the army.
